TS/None
The green overdrive with a couple upgrades
TS/None is by no means a reinvention of the wheel. It is, however, a really good wheel. I didn't want to add ANOTHER green overdrive to the market until I knew I had something interesting to bring to the table. So what's changed? The classic topology stays the same, minus the buffers. The op-amp has been upgraded to be more high fidelity and hold up better on low notes. The clipping structure has been adjusted to give it a different flavor. The inclusion of some new EQ shaping unlocks some fresh possibilities. The Fat control lowers the high pass filter allowing more low-mid information to hit the clipping section. Strat too brash? Fat switch. Always wanted more OOMPH in your chugs? Fat switch. You just want something new? Fat switch, probably. The Bright switch extends the low pass filter to open up more sparkle in the high midrange. Exceeds with dark guitars and amps, lower tunings, and neck pickups. Working the Bright switch and Tone control can give you a new perspective on the classic green box. I wouldn't advice cranking both. OUCH. Both switches engaged will give you a fuller, less filtered tone capable of a much thicker overdrive. This in conjunction with the new clipping arrangement makes for some TS potential that you won't get anywhere else. And the best part is it is budget friendly at $75.
